From Tree to Structure...

PWS building systems start in sustainable forests. Our wood elements are made from small dimensional lumber that is responsibly forested and this system uses a larger percentage of each tree than what is needed to produce conventional lumber.  Any lumber waste generated during production is recycled and used to create energy for operating the factory.  Once the lumber is cut, production of the panels begins.  Each panel is comprised of vertical, horizontal, and diagonal wood elements that are densely layered, without gaps, to become solid and compact construction elements.  Dry wooden dowels are inserted into the layered wood elements and, once in position, soak up any residual moisture and swell.  Due to the strong connecting power of the dowels a massive, solid building component is created out of the individual parts.

All aspects of architectural design, openings for doors, as well as electrical chases are cut into the panels at the factory.  The wooden panels are then delivered to the job site by truck and assembled onto a pre-laid foundation using a crane.  Once on site, a 2,500 square foot house can be assembled in as few as 2-3 days.

Prefabricated panelized systems are fast becoming an answer for developers who face labor shortages and building seasons with inclement weather.  Additionally, many builders are  finding assurance in the quality controlled product that a factory environment produces.
