Pure Wood Solutions - Insulation Qualities

Nature's own airconditioning...

Pure Wood Solutions provides a consistent indoor climate.  Rooms feel warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer because of the structures natural storage capacity.  PWS building systems have their own insulating components that don’t require artificial or additional insulation.  This energy saving phenomenon is possible because the structure is free of glue and metal-less connections.  Small air pockets within the lumber layers in the solid wood elements provide unique insular quality.  Energy consumption from heating and air conditioning of the end structure is far less than any structure made of concrete, brick or traditional stick built methods.

Shannon Neve, the current resident of our first completed 2,500 square foot structure in the United States has noticed a huge difference this winter stating, “I just turn the heat on for five minutes in the morning and the entire house is great all day.”

This insular quality has been proven in laboratory tests.  One test involved turning the heat off and measuring the time lag until the wall surface inside the test room reached 32°F starting with an interior temperature of 72°F and an exterior temperature of 14°F.  The result took over 200 hours for the PWS building to cool down to 32°F.  This cooling down time is approximately 5-6 times longer than a traditional stick built structure with mineral wool insulation.
