Reduce, Reuse, Recycle...
With overflowing landfills a hot topic in the US, PWS construction sites take pride in low levels of on-sight construction waste. According to the U.S. General Services Administration, trash from construction sites accounts for 25%-45% of the country's total waste. And recent studies by the National Association of Home Builders showed that an average home built using traditional stick-built construction methods generates 8,000 pounds of construction waste.
Given the controlled environment in which the end product is both designed and constructed, PWS building systems generate very little waste. In addition, the waste that is produced in the factory is converted into energy that powers the machinery. After recently framing a 2,500 square foot home in California, our only waste on site was a small box of trash from the workers lunches. No big dumpsters needed!
